Generating business leads from international trade shows, like the Tourism Indaba 2014, can be somewhat of a daunting challenge when exhibiting next to competitive global giants with a budget to back a double story master piece. This however is a challenge that Shades of Green Events knows how to deal with.
One example, Shades of Green Events were recently employed by an international communications agency to design, build and implement a moderate sized exhibition stand for a pharmaceutical company at the 6th PAN African Malaria Conference.
THE CUSTOMER AND THE CHALLENGE…
The customer had very specific requirements with regards to the outcome of the exhibition stand – it had to draw delegates in so that they could explore the scientific material whilst interact with the brand in an engaging and playful manner. The objective was to implement an attraction on the stand that would allow the customer to get to know their product in a light hearted way without disregarding the seriousness of the malaria disease.
IMPLEMENTATION….
Shades of Green Events implemented five distinct areas of interactive engagement with the delegates.
1) A life size wire loop game with interval labels that explained the “journey” of the client’s brand. The challenge was to not let the loop come into contact with the wire and once completed a buzzer would sound and the labels would flash with illuminated backlighting drawing focus to the message. The game soon became a highlight of the exhibition hall with time challenges between the delegates.
2) Most delegates who attended the conference were from foreign countries and therefore a photo booth was implemented to allow delegates to take a fun memento home. The photo strips were branded with the product name therefore reinforcing the brand beyond the conference.
3) iPads were available to delegates with a customised interactive application. The application was a series of games / quizzes about the actual products.
4) Free barista style coffee was available to all delegates from the exhibition stand coffee bar at all times of the day.
5) The exhibition stand hosted a smart phone and tablet charging station.
THE RESULT…..
This exhibition stand in particular presented a well thought of and executed interactive booth that gained admiring glances from the crowd and competitors alike. The traffic that was directed to the exhibition stand through a few well thought of interactive techniques exceeded the clients expectations.
