Earlier this month, Shades of Green placed a pledge on laps completed by a local Durban athlete and personal trainer, Mariska Grace for the WarriorXtreme24. The 24 hour obstacle race saw participants pushing their limits as they endured laps of a 5km obstacle course with 15 obstacles. The race itself was developed to test the toughest of athletes.

Mariska completed a respectable 13 laps over 17 hours, completing the race on the podium as the third lady. The funds raised will be used by KwaRescue (a project of KwaCare – a public benefit organisation) to renovate the children’s section at the Pinetown court making it easier for children affected by sexual abuse to testify.

Shades of Green looks forward to getting involved in many more CSI projects to ensure we make a positive contribution to the lives of those who need a helping hand and a little bit of hope.
