Shades of Green Events in discussion with our client conceptualised the Independent News Papers (IOL) Exhibition Stand for the 2014 Royal Show held in Pietermaritzburg.   The South African newspaper group publishes 15 national and regional newspapers, and several Cape-based community newspapers.   IOL has embarked on the journey to go digital (digital subscriptions are already available) and as such wanted to break away from the traditional print stigma and showcase how the company is progressing.  Shades of Green Events helped IOL achieve this by doing the following:

-        Building a custom exhibition stand – showing just how trendy IOL can be

-        Each pillar represented a KZN newspaper title with bold and bright branding

-        iPads were mounted to each pillar allowing for instantaneous subscriptions

In addition to the actual exhibition stand, Shades of Green Events launched the “Wi-Fi Event Solution” for IOL.   Visitors to IOLs exhibition stand were provided with free Wi-Fi to which they could connect their mobile phones, tablets or other device for the duration of their visit.   Through a branded & customised landing page visitors would be required to enter some basic details about themselves to gain access to the free Wi-Fi (courtesy of IOL).   Shades of Green Events were then able to prepare a detailed analytical report for IOL which showed the demographics of people who visited their stand, the websites the users visited & the types of devices they used. A full database (marketing leads list) was also given to IOL on completion of the event.
